General

A signature snare drum with jazz legend Peter Erskine's name on it has to be something pretty special. This side snare was modelled after one of Erskine's favourite snare drums, the Ash Stave model from Tama's STAR series. For this snare, the same production method and wood type was used, which means this shell is constructed from12 layers of wood that have been lined up vertically, much like a wine vat. This snare delivers a penetrating attack and a fast response due to the ash wood used in its construction. The shell has an Oiled Natural Ash finish that enhances the natural wood grain.

Shell hardware

This snare is equipped with the Super Resonant Mounting System which is easy to use and ensures minimal contact with the shell. It also features Die-Cast hoop rings that are held in place by 6 lugs. You can engage or disengage the Liner-Drive strainer with one smooth movement and all the hardware is chrome-plated.
