General

Every snare drum has a distinct sound, which is determined by the material that the shell is made of, the size, the weight, the drumheads and what its intended purpose is. With the Free Floating Task Specific snare drums, the people at Pearl have made snare drums that are created, you guessed it, for very specific tasks.

Pearl Phosphor Bronze 14 x 6.5-inch snare drum

This beautiful snare drum has a 14-inch diameter and is 6.5 inches deep. The shell is 1.2mm thick and is made of bronze. Thanks to the material and depth of the shell, the snare creates a rich, deep sound with a great foundation of low tones. Pearl fitted the shell with die-cast hoops, which are tightened with tension rods that are not in contact with the shell, to ensure optimal resonance. All the hardware on this snare drum is chrome-plated. The new Pearl SR-160F snare strainer makes sure your snare wires maintain the right tension, even if your playing gets a little loud. and this snare is equipped with a Remo Coated Ambassador batter head as a standard feature. This might be the perfect snare for drummers who are looking for a warm sound.
