Ghostly quality

Its hybrid shell (the inner and outer layers are 1.7mm birch and in between is a layer of 1.7mm walnut), this Mapex Black Panther Phantom snare drum is unmatched in its sensitivity. Playing ghost notes just got a lot easier.

Jungle & Electro beats

Birch snares usually have a less open, more studio-friendly sound that maple snares do. In this case, combined with the dark undertones of the walnut, that results in a very compact sound with excellent sensitivity. That makes this snare drum excellently suited to, for instance, play fast and controlled jungle and electro beats, especially since the 12-inch diameter gives this snare drum a high pitch. And it will also make for a fantastic side snare!
