General

The Radial JX-42 is compact guitar and amp switcher that can handle up to four guitars and two amplifiers. It's primarily designed for touring but also useful in the studio. The JX42 is the smaller and more affordable version of the JX44 Air Control. It has a robust steel housing that's designed to protect the knobs and switches and a unique I-Beam construction that offers the internal circuit board optimal protection. The JX-42 is made with pride in Canada.

JX-42: easy to use

Radial have designed the JX-42 to be as easy to use as possible. When you select a new channel using one of the four radio-style switches on the front, for instance, the previous channel is turned off immediately. The LEDs provide a visual aid which is especially handy when working on dark stages. Thanks to the on-board technology you won't experience any unwanted sounds when switching channels even when using high-gain amplifiers. There's a 100% discrete class-A buffering circuit too that ensures the quailty of signals at all times. Switching between amps can also be done using the optional JR2 pedal instead of the on-board controls.

Wednesday 11 November 2015 By Lizanne

It's a common occurrence in the studio or during live performances - you make a recording, but the signal is low, the fader on your console is on max and you're out of headroom. The signal is simply too weak and starts to distort when you try to amplify it with a compressor or gain plugin. Radial comes to the rescue with the McBoost - a microphone preamplifier that will add up to 25 dB to the incoming signal, ideal for consoles or audio interfaces that need a little extra oomph!
