General

This ECM 673 short shotgun microphone by Sony is an electret condenser microphone that requires phantom power. It delivers an outstanding performance under nearly all circumstances. The ECM 673 has been designed to go well with the HDV and DVCAM portable camcorders by Sony. The microphone is highly sensitive, but registers hardly any noise or other unwanted sounds, and comes in a compact and lightweight housing.

Clear recordings

The ECM 673 has a super-cardioid pickup pattern, which means it clearly registers your voice or any other sound source it is directed at. Even in a noisy environment, this shotgun microphone is capable of recording clear, intelligible audio. A flat-and-wide frequency response of 40 Hz to 20 kHz ensures that your recordings sound exceptionally realistic and natural, and an integrated low-cut filter guarantees that ambient noise and other unwanted sounds won't taint your results. Despite its moderate dimensions, this ECM 673 short shotgun microphone by Sony delivers an impressive performance.
