If there's one semi-acoustic guitar out there able to sweep you off your feet, it's the Gretsch Falcon. Its impressive body, characteristic sound and flamboyant appearance are considered the exemplary standard for hollow body guitars. Richly decorated with gilded ornaments and hardware, including a Bigsby Vibroto tailpiece, this G6136T Players Edition Black Falcon is aimed at contemporary guitarists who enjoy that pure Gretsch sound and value modern playing comfort. The Black Falcon's body is relatively thin and its hardware is more than ready for intense guitar work. The fretboard radius has been adjusted to 12 inches to make the transition to this true Gretsch model a little easier.

A modern classic

At first sight, it looks like this Black Falcon came flying in from the '60s. Looks can be deceiving though, as its thin body gives away a modern feature. Two High Sensitive Filter'trons deliver crystal-clear trebles, tight mids and imposing bass. These updated humbuckers respond particularly well to the subtleties in your sound as the electrics have seen slight adjusted to create bright and vintage tones. With Grover Imperial Gold locking machine heads, a fixed bridge and a modern Bigsby tailpiece, the hardware is certainly today's. Lastly, the new 'string-through' construction makes replacing the strings easier than ever before.

Gretsch Players Editions

In 2016, Gretsch introduced two new series: the Golden Era Edition series is aimed at purists, while the Player Edition series is aimed at more pragmatic guitarists. While the latter still pays homage to Gretsch' great history, the models in this series also feature modern design elements. That means thinner bodies thanks to the innovative Gretsch ML bracing, which ensures that these models still produce the same rich, full sound as their thicker counterparts. Other notable enhancements include the string-through Bigsby and a Fender 'no load' circuit. The Falcon can be considered both series' flagship in terms of style and quality.
