As one of Gretsch's Vintage Select models, it boasts the same vintage features that made Gretsch guitars so popular in the '50s and '60s. Among other things, this G6122T has two TV Jones Classic humbucker pickups, each with its own volume knob for optimal flexibility. Furthermore, its innovative trestle bracing ensures maximum reinforcement without affecting the instrument's resonance. A three-way tone switch allows for a versatile sound, while new paper-in-oil capacitors provide you with a high-grade vintage tone. Also noteworthy is the guitar's string-thru Rocking Bar bridge with Bigsby.

Vintage sound, elegant design

The TV Jones pickups of this Vintage Select Edition guitar were designed to deliver a defined, vintage sound. As such, your trebles are rich and detailed, your mids saturated and your bass tones quite powerful. The bridge and neck pickups each have their own volume control, and there's also a three-way pickup switch, a master volume knob and a master tone control to give you full control over your output. The G6122T's paper-in-oil capacitors an entirely new feature. They ensure a vintage sound and guarantee the character of your trebles is left intact when you turn up the volume, thanks to a no load circuit. Meanwhile, a string-thru Bigsby bridge increases sustain and makes your vibrato more intense.

Chet Atkins & trestle bracing

Like a true Gretsch instrument, this Country Gentleman is equipped with the renowned '59 trestle bracing to prevent feedback. Trestle bracing consists of wooden braces that are placed underneath to top to reduce unwanted vibration, hardly affecting the guitar's weight or the natural resonance of the instrument's body. More than 50 years after it was first invented, this type of bracing is still used for Gretsch's more exclusive models. The Gretsch G6122T-62GE Vintage Select Edition's neck is made of three plies of maple, and its ebony fretboard has a 12" radius and is fitted with 22 vintage-style frets. Both the neck and the bridge pickup are TV Jones humbuckers, which can be used in three different configurations. The master volume, the master tone and the volume of the two pickups can easily be adjusted.
