If you're looking for a high-quality guitar with real vintage allure, the Gretsch G6122T-59GE Vintage Select Edition 1962 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman is more than likely to do it for you. This is one of Gretsch's Vintage Select models, so it boasts the same vintage features that made Gretsch guitars so popular way back in the '50s and '60s. Two TV Jones Classic humbucker pickups complete the electronics load-out and supports versatile and high-grade vintage tone. Furthermore, innovative Trestle Bracing ensures maximum sonic reinforcement without affecting the resonance. Finished with the throw-back vibrato of a Bigsby B6GVT tailpiece and Rocking Bar bridge, this period-correct stunner of a guitar bids a welcome return.

The Gretsch G6122-59GE Country Gentleman

The gold-plated hardware and Gold Plexi pickguard are framed against a rich and dark, Walnut Stain finish, completing a satisfying vintage picture. The vintage vibe also extends to the control layout. Echoing the semi-acoustic models that were first built during the late fifties, this guitar features a master volume pot, a dedicated volume pot per pickup, a three-way master tone switch and a three-way pickup switch, so you're getting the full throwback experience. Polishing everything off in lightly modern style, the Country Gentleman also comes fitted with a set of gold-plated Grover Rotomatic Mini machine heads to ensure supreme tuning stability.

Trestle Bracing & Upgraded Playability

Like any true Gretsch instrument, the Country Gentleman comes equipped with renowned '59 trestle bracing. This tweak doesn't just prevent feedback but, since the wooden braces are placed beneath the soundboard in a specific pattern, unwanted resonance is reduced while barely affecting the guitar's weight or the natural resonance of the body. More than 50 years after it was first invented, this type of bracing is still used for Gretsch's more exclusive models. Meanwhile, the three-ply maple neck couples with an ebony fretboard with a 12 inch radius and twenty-two vintage-style frets, guaranteeing smooth and comfy playability that seamlessly marries the past and the present.

Deze gitaar de Gretsch G6122-59GE 1959 Vintage Select CA Country Gentlemen heb ik sinds kort aangeschaft bij Bax. Wat een kwaliteit deze gitaar. Ik sloot hem meteen aan op mijn Marshall oefen versterkertje van 15 watt. Wanneer ik mijn andere gitaren aansloot gaf de versterker altijd een lichte brom. De electronica van deze Gretsch is zo goed afgeschermd dat zelfs deze versterker muisstil was.
De gitaar speelt fantastisch. Mooie lage actie en de gitaar ontstemt nooit ondanks het vele gebruik van de tremolo. De pick ups van TV jones klinken uitstekend.
Bax heeft de gitaar speciaal voor mij uit Goes laten komen omdat ik in filiaal Rotterdam was om een andere type Gretsch uit te proberen. (de Gretsch G6119T) deze vond ik niet zo lekker spelen. De hals van de 6122 is iets breder. De volgende dag kon ik de 6122 dus ook uitproberen en hoefde niet lang na te denken over de aanschaf. WAT EEN BEEST VAN EEN GITAAR !! BAX bedankt voor de goede service!! Vooral Stefan.
Ik ben er heel blij mee.
