General

The Gretsch G6120T-59 Vintage Select Edition '59 Chet Atkins is a real blast from the past. This classic semi-acoustic guitar has a stunning Vintage Orange Stain finish with an aged white and black body binding. The pinned 'rocking' bar bridge and Bigsby B6CVT vibrato tailpiece are also real eye-catchers on this model. It's equipped with classic TV Jones humbucker pickups which deliver an authentic Gretsch tone that you can tweak to perfection using the stylish nickel 'G Arrow' control knobs.

Silky high end

The TV Jones passive humbuckers deliver a classic sound with a silky high end thanks to the Gretsch 'Squeezebox' paper-in-oil capacitors. This model boasts no fewer than three volume knobs: one for each pickup and a master as well. Instead of tone controls, the G6120T-59 has a 3-way switch next to the 3-way pickup switch that gives you plenty of tonal variety. You can always add extra expression to your playing as well using the Bigsby B6CVT vibrato, of course.

Other features

The 1959-style trestle bracing connects the top and back of this beautifully-designed guitar enhancing its vintage tone. The body and neck are both made of maple with the latter being home to an ebony fretboard that features 22 vintage-style frets and aged pearloid Neo-Classic 'Thumbnail' position markers. The tuning is kept in check by the Grover Sta-Tite machine heads and the icing on the cake is Chet Atkins signature on the pickguard.

Dit is echt een dijk van een gitaar. Het geluid is ronduit fenomenaal. Speelcomfort is bijzonder goed, afwerking superb en erg fraai hoe de houtstructuur (laminated maple) door de oranje lak schemert.
Enige puntje is de topkam in combi met de Bigsby, maar een beetje vijlen en wat Nut Sauce lost dat op.
