This Gretsch 2016 Electromatic 12-string hollow body in Walnut Stain is about as playable as it gets. The entire Electromatic series has been revamped to offer guitarists around the world enhanced Gretsch guitars at a relatively friendly price. This particular Gretsch G5422G-12 12-string in Walnut Stain has a hollow body with the brand's signature oversized F-holes. To achieve that legendary Gretsch sound, this guitar features two blacktop Filter'Tron pickups that possess larger magnets and less windings than humbuckers. This delivers a fat, characteristic sound in which the high frequencies remain articulated.
G5422G-12 2016 Electromatic 12-String Walnut Stain
The 2016 Electromatic guitars have undergone quite a makeover compared to their predecessors. They have been given some luxurious details including a fancy Electromatic logo on the pickguard, new position markers on the fretboard, a fifties-style headstock with binding that becomes a 4-ply binding that goes around the entire body. The master volume control has a treble bleed function which ensures the high frequencies come through the mix loud and clear, even at low volumes. For optimal tuning stability, each 2016 Electromatic has a NuBone string nut by Graph Tech, one of the most popular string nut manufacturers out there today.
