General

Double your Gretsch, double your fun with the G5422G-12 a 12-string hollow body! For their 2016 Electromatic Collection, Gretsch have revamped this particular 12-string model that's popular with guitarists from all over the world. This Gretsch G5422G-12 in black has a hollow body with iconic oversized F-holes. To achieve the unique Gretsch sound of this 12-string, it's equipped with two blacktop Filter'Tron pickups that have larger magnets with fewer windings than humbuckers. This ensures a characteristic, fat tone with prominent highs.

G5422G-12 2016 Electromatic 12-String: Packed with Improvements

You're probably wondering what makes these 2016 Electromatics so different from their earlier counterparts. For starters, they all feature a luxurious 4-ply binding in alternating aged white and black. The master volume control is equipped with a treble bleed circuit, which ensures that this guitar's sound remains clear and balanced, even at low volume levels. For optimal tuning stability, each 2016 Electromatic has a NuBone string nut by Graph Tech, one of the most popular string nut manufacturers out there. Furthermore, these guitars all have an enhanced Electromatic logo on the pickguard, pearloid position markers, and a fifties-style headstock complete with binding.

The Gretsch Brand

Gretsch was founded in 1883 by Friedrich Gretsch, an instrument-maker who owned a small store in Brooklyn, New York where he built banjos, drums, and tambourines. Now, Gretsch has grown into one of the biggest drum and guitar manufacturers in the world. In this family-owned company, craftsmanship, quality, and innovation have been passed down from generation to generation. Famous artists like Chet Atkins, Bono, Charlie Watts, Neil Young, and Phil Collins are all fans of 'That Great Gretsch Sound'.
