One of the most loved full-sized semi-acoustic Gretsch offerings of all time, the G5420 has been given a deluxe, 140th anniversary makeover, resulting in the irresistible two-tone Gretsch G5420T-140 Electromatic 140th Double Platinum. The subtle Pearl Platinum finish of the top and headstock has been contrasted with the Stone Platinum finish of the sides, the back, the back of the neck and the back of the headstock, completing something pretty special. And, for good measure, the front of the headstock features an exclusive commemorative badge, celebrating 140 years of the guitar-building legend, Gretsch.
The Gretsch G5420T-140 Two-Tone: Big & Sparkling Hollow Body Sound
The body shape of this electric hollow body hark back to classic models while maintaining the build quality we've come to expect from the Electromatic Series. The laminated maple top, sides and back combine with a set-in maple neck to pack the tone with classic chime, while the mounted pair of FT-5E Filter’Tron pickups keep the amplified sound big, sparkling and elastic. Scroll through the wide sonic spectrum on offer via the familiar set of controls and enjoy the snug and controlled playing feel of the Classic-C neck profile, the 12 inch fretboard radius and the smooth tremolo action of the Bigsby B70 tailpiece planted behind the Adjust-O-Matic bridge.
