Epiphone's Riviera Custom P93 is based on the classic Riviera. Since its introduction in the 1960s, this semi-acoustic guitar has been a favourite with musicians in different genres. This special version has a rich Wine Red finish and is equipped with three P90 'Dogear' pickups that deliver plenty of punch - they also look pretty impressive alongside the pickguard and Bigsby B700 tailpiece. Echter hij weegt zwaar, is erg uit balans en moeilijk te bespelen zonder strap, ook zittend is het een worsteling zonder strap.
De jengelpook kan handiger zitten, hij zou wat meer boven de snaren afgesteld moeten kunnen worden, wat niet gaat zonder ijzerzaag.
Op termijn gaat er waarschijnlijk andere elektronica in komen, muv. de pick-ups, dat kan een stuk beter denk ik (niet dat het erg slecht is).
Mijn ervaringen met Epiphone is niet zo goed tot nu toe. Tegen een MIJ Casino en een Sheraton heb ik een schop gegeven. Een John Lennon EJ-160E hangt mooi te zijn aan de wand en wordt niet gebruikt.
Deze Riviera is zeer de moeite, en dus het geld waard. Hij is moeilijk weg te zetten als je aan het spelen bent, maar dat zal alleen een nadeel zijn als je partner midden in de nacht briesend naast je staat.
