General

This legendary Epiphone archtop has remained virtually unchanged since its release in 1935. While a touch more affordable than its direct ancestor, the Swingster edition is still built to voice classic rockabilly, jazz, and rock 'n' roll. The spruce top has been combined with a maple back and sides and a set-in SlimTaper maple neck complete with a Clipped Ear headstock finished with the iconic Tree of Life inlay. The more unruly wooden floating bridge has been replaced with a Locktone Tune-O-Matic bridge with a wooden base that's firmly secured by two pins, while the traditional Frequensator tailpiece has also been removed and upgraded with a licensed Bigsby B30 Vibrato with old-school 'wire handle' tremolo-arm to support those essential fifties-style whammy bar tricks.

The Epiphone Emperor Swingster: Rock Around The Clock

This tribute of a semi-acoustic has been equipped with a pair of Alnico V Swingbucker pickups, treating players to warm humbucker tone with just a touch more bite, and to double the fun, you can boost the brightness by popping out the tone pots and unleashing single-coil-style sound. This combo has been teamed up with a 3-way pickup switch and dual volume controls, pushing the tonal potential through the proverbial roof. All of that sound comes fully backed up by the solid intonation and tuning stability of a set of high-quality, 14:1 ratio machine heads courtesy of Grover.

Luckily, both camps are being catered to with Gretsch's new series: the Vintage Select Editions and the Players Editions.
