General

Boasting the same spec-sheet as the full-sized Excel Tour, the more slimline D'Angelico Tour Series Excel Mini DC Tour semi-acoustic brings all the build-quality, all the looks and all the playability demanded by serious stage work. An uber-stable three-piece neck has been topped with a deluxe ebony fretboard and set into the narrower laminated maple body to boost the resonance, while the C-profile carve of the neck, the 12 inch radius of the fretboard and the full set of twenty-two medium-jumbo frets have an immediately controlled and nimble feel in the fret-hand. Lightweight and agile, this thinline and double-cut D'Angelico charmer comes complete with a form-fitting gig bag.

The D'Angelico Excel DC Tour: Vintage '50s Sound

The level of build quality immediately kits this guitar out with a transparent and bright acoustic sound, where the basses and trebles are kept nice and tight. Meanwhile, a two-pack of specially designed Supro Bolt Bucker pickups lay down pure fifties style flavour, where the Alnico 2 edition at the neck sets an outstanding contrast with the Alnico 5 version at the bridge, and the centreblock that rests beneath the soundboard keeps any feedback to a minimum. Finishing with Satin Nickel hardware, including a set of Grover Vintage Deluxe machine heads, a Tune-O-Matic bridge and a subtle Throwback Scroll style headstock, this model brings nothing but high-grade professionalism.
