General

Yamaha's RGX series is known for its affordable, yet decent beginner guitars, and the RGX121Z certainly matches that description. Two humbuckers, one single-coil pickup and a tone knob provide you with a versatile sound palette, which makes this Flat Silver guitar suitable for a wide range of music styles, including rock, pop and funk. This second-hand RGX121Z solid-body from 2014 is in excellent condition, and comes with a Fazley GB-Standard Electric gig bag. They're yours for an amazing price!

Yamaha RGX121Z FLS: cutaways, neck and tremolo

Like its counterparts, the RGX220DZ and the RGX420DZII, the Yamaha RGX121Z has a comfortable body with two cutaways that make even the 22nd fret easily accessible. RGX guitars are known for the incredible speed of their necks, which they owe to a slim profile and a wide, nearly flat fretboard. To reduce friction, the back of the neck has a satin gloss finish, which means you'll be able to play quick solos across its entire length. For hardware, the Yamaha RGX121Z has a set of stable self-lubricating machine heads and a vintage-style tremolo bridge with six screws that allows for subtle vibration as well as extreme tone changes.

A versatile HSH pickup configuration

Regardless of your musical preferences, the Yamaha RGX121Z FLS is able to deliver the sound you need thanks to its HSH pickup configuration. You'll find a humbucker near the bridge, another one near the neck, and a single-coil pickup in between. The humbuckers deliver a higher output than the single-coil, and produce a sound that's slightly more rounded and more robust, making them perfect for heavier music styles from blues rock to metal. The tight, clear sound of the single-coil pickup, on the other hand, is ideal for funky clean guitar parts. A 5-way pickup switch allows to you choose between the three pickups and two intermediate positions, while the guitar's volume and tone knobs enable you to add some light and shadow to your sound.
