General
The Yamaha TRBX 174 BK is a black bass guitar from the modern TRBX series by Yamaha. This bass is remarkable not only for its attractive appearance but for its versatile sound.
Powerful and stable
Instead of having a mahogany body like the others in its series, the Yamaha TRBX 174 BK features an alder body. This outstanding wood is known for its balanced characteristics which spread the tone emphasis among the highs, lows and mids. The neck is make of mahogany and is equipped with an Indian Rosewood fretboard. The electronics at the heart of the bass are comprised of two single-coil pickups that create an incredibly defined, transparent and powerful sound. One of the pickups (neck) is a split single-coil, used for an extra powerful sound without that annoying 50 Hz hum.

Het enige minpuntje dat ik zou hebben is dat de knoppen echt heel goedkoop aanvoelen, maar dat is heel makkelijk te vervangen.
Eén dingetje: het uiterlijk - ik heb de zwarte - is niet spannend en de plastic knoppen voelen goedkoop aan. Die heb ik dus vervangen door verchroomde metalen knoppen (kosten nog geen negen euro in totaal) en dat staat en voelt een stuk beter, maar echt nodig was dat natuurlijk niet.
Overall een prima combinatie met mijn Fender Rumble 25. Zonder meer een aanrader voor serieuze beginners en gevorderden die zonder grote investeringen gewoon lekker willen spelen.
