General
Stamped with classic '80s Yamaha style and finished in translucent black, the four-string version of the TRB Series TRB1004J is still a solid go-to for the modern bassist.
The Yamaha TRB1004J Bass: Superior Neck & Body
The five-piece maple and mahogany neck has been secured with no less than six bolts to ensure superior stability and has been teamed up with an alder and maple body to lay down a firm tonal foundation, while the solid brass bridge gives the natural sustain a welcome boost while adding an edge of its own. The neck has been given a butter-smooth satin-gloss finish and boasts the wider range of 24 frets and a 35 inch scale length, finishing an instrument that's been built for comfortable and agile fret work.
Pickups & Controls
The amplified sound of the TRB is shaped by a pair of Humcancelled single-coils at the neck and bridge, both loaded with Alnico-V magnets to lay down full-range tone with plenty of depth and a smooth balance between the high and low end, while the smart design of the coils effectively eliminates unwanted hum. Perfect the sound further using the active three-band EQ controls and blend and volume pots to fully explore the sonic might this refined instrument has to offer.
