General

Warwick's Star Bass has made a comeback! Based on the original 1976 bass guitar played by funk pioneer, Bootsy Collins, the Space Bass has landed! Bootsy's style has influenced scores of pop musicians including Prince and Snoop Dogg. This is the fourth Star Bass model ever made and has a mahogany body with a 2-part Warwick bridge and active MEC J/TJ pickups, all dressed in a sparkling Purple Starburst Bootsy finish! The maple neck is reinforced with ekanga strips, and the rosewood fretboard with star inlays has a star-shaped headstock with Bootsy's logo to match the body.

Bootsy

After five world-wide hits with James Brown, William 'Bootsy' Collins made a name for himself in George Clinton's Parliament en Funkadelic and then formed Bootsy's Rubber Band, making his own contribution to funk mythology. Bootsy's super smooth and heavy bass tones are immediately recognisable and his famous words are ones no musician should ever forget: 'Everything on the one!'

Tips or comments about this product
  • Please note: since 1976, very few Star Basses have been made. This exclusive model is the fourth ever made.
