General

The APB-44 Yellow Sunburst by Tokai is a high-quality bass guitar with an attractive price tag. It was built with expert craftsmanship and is based on a timeless P-bass model, which means it has a wide neck and a split coil pickup. This simple design makes the APB-44 easy to use and it delivers a great sound. This bass doesn't have a bunch of unnecessary knobs; only a tone and a volume control, which you can use to adjust the sound to your liking. From deep, dry growls to aggressive, bright howls, the Tokai APB-44 delivers!

Construction

The APB-44 is made from high-quality materials and has a solid body made of alder with a maple bolted-on neck. The fretboard is rosewood, which provides a slightly warmer sound than maple, for instance. Its split coil pickup, which is standard issue on a P-bass, is located in the sweet spot; right in the centre of the body, where the string tension is optimal. That's where the perfect balance of punch, low, warmth, and clarity will be picked up. To top it all off, the Tokai APB-44 Yellow Sunburst has an attractive, traditional finish.

Tokai bass guitar

In the late '70s, Tokai rocked the very foundations of the guitar world when they offered affordable copies of famous American guitar models that were just as good as the originals! The secret was the strict quality control in which the Japanese brand subjected every product to a strict set of high-quality requirements. Tokai instruments are now produced in China with care and attention to detail, and also undergo strict quality control before leaving the factory.
