The Sterling by Music Man SUB Ray4 (Walnut Stain) is an electric bass guitar that is very similar to the famous Music Man StingRay 4 in many ways. It is the perfect instrument for amateur or advanced guitarists who want the features of the StingRay without having to pay top dollar. This rugged brown instrument has the stylish body shape of the original, as well as the unmistakeable oval pickguard, boomerang control plate and active tone controls.
The sound and playing comfort of the SUB Ray4
The resonance of the lightweight, tonally rich body of the SUB Ray4 is powerfully sent to the built-in preamp via the natural-sounding high-output humbucker. Thanks to the very effective 2-band EQ, you can accurately adjust the sound between mild and aggressive. Additionally, the Ray4 is an exceptionally smooth bass guitar to play thanks to the slender neck with satin-soft lacquer finish and low-profile heel - which allows you to reach even the highest frets with ease.
Rugged construction
The 21-fret maple neck of the Sterling by Music Man Ray4 is (like all Musicman bass guitars) bolted to the body with six screws - a solid construction that enhances tonal transference and sustain. Should you ever wish to adjust the neck, doing so is child's play. The characteristic Music Man truss rod nut is on the end of the neck and can easily be adjusted without removing the neck or strings.
