Have you always wanted a genuine Stingray Bass, but couldn't find pockets in your trousers that were deep enough? We bring you: the Sterling by Music Man SUB Ray4. Naturally, the playability of this guitar is nothing short of excellent. Thanks to the satin-gloss lacquer on the back of the neck, it feels delightfully smooth and your fingers won't stick to it.

Sterling SUB Ray4: Music Man sound

Just like the American Stingray Bass, the Sterling SUB Ray4 features a powerful humbucker pickup. Thanks to its high output and extra large magnets, this pickup is more than capable of handling the heavier bass playing. An active 2-band EQ allows you to fully adjust the sound to your liking, as you can create a broad range of sounds by boosting or filtering the bass and trebles. From mild and warm to aggressive and biting.

Rugged construction

The Sterling by Music Man SUB Ray4 has a body made of solid hard wood. The 21-fret maple neck of the Sterling by Music Man Ray 40 is - like all Musicman bass guitars - bolted to the body with six screws, a solid construction that enhances tonal transference and sustain. Should you ever wish to adjust the neck, doing so is child's play. The characteristic Music Man truss rod nut is on the end of the neck and can easily be adjusted without removing the neck or strings.

Wrote the following about Sterling by Music Man SUB Ray4 black

Prima basgitaar voor de beginner of als backup. Voelt lekker aan en speelt soepel. Wordt in Indonesia (dus niet in China) gemaakt. Netjes afgewerkt, wel zelf even de intonatie gedaan, dat klopte af-fabriek niet helemaal maar dat verwachtte ik ook niet voor een bas uit deze prijsklasse.

Toen ik deze bas bij Bax bestelde (07-01-2019) gaf de bestelprocedure aan dat (geleverd via GLS) de bas de volgende werkdag geleverd zou worden. GLS heeft echter voor dit formaat verpakking TWEE werkdagen nodig. Hou daar rekening mee. Op zich niet erg alleen in het bestelproces van BAX komt dat helaas niet duidelijk naar voren en dat kan tot "teleurstellingen" leiden.

Ik heb altijd al een Stingray gewild, maar de Sterling is een prima alternatief. Hij heeft een mooi geluid en speelt heel soepel. Ik ben er superblij mee.
