General

The Sterling by Music Man Ray34CA (Black) is an excellent choice for bassists looking for an affordable vintage version of the famous Music Man Stingray. A gig bag is included. As you'd expect, this version has all the characteristics of the StingRays. The body is made of ash and features the unmistakeable oval-shaped pickguard and 'boomerang' control plate. It also has the 3/1 machine head configuration, as well as a robust bridge, a high-output Alnico humbucker and an active tone control.

The vintage sounds of the Ray34 CA

The completely flat 'slab' body with a hard gloss finish is also partly what makes the Ray34CA 'Classic Active' vintage. Just like the StingRay, it has a body made of ash, ensuring a light weight and excellent resonance. The powerful humbucker pickup has been specially voiced for a more vintage sound. In combination with the classic 2-band EQ, this makes it perfect for funk and rock sounds.

Rugged construction

The 21-fret maple neck is bolted on to the body for a solid construction that transfers the sound well and provides good sustain. Should you ever wish to adjust the neck, it's easy to do. Simply use the Music Man truss rod nut on the end of the neck without even removing the strings.
