General

A signature version of an instrument is always a lot more personal than a standard model. This Squier Precision Bass is the Mike Dirnt signature edition, which you can tell from several features. Mike Dirnt wouldn't tie his name to just any instrument. Squier designed this bass guitar after specifications by Green Day's bass player, resulting in (among others) this Arctic White version.

Mike Dirnt Precision Bass

A rock band such as Green Day is well suited with a Precision Bass. Since its early days, this type of bass guitar has lent itself excellently for powerful, driving bass lines in a rock mix. It has a solid, massive sound that is taken into account by the proper output of the split single coil on this Squier. Volume and tone controls enable you to fine tune the sound. The jack output is mounted on the side of the body and has an (American) football jack plate.

Design features

One of the most striking visual features of this bass guitar is the tortoise pickguard, contrasting nicely to the white agathis body. The maple neck is bolted onto the body and features a rosewood fretboard with 20 medium jumbo sized frets. The vintage-style features of this instrument include its headstock and the Slab-style top, that were both based on those of the '51 model. Its front contour and pickguard shape were modelled after those on the 1955 version. Aided by the striking star emblem on the neck plate, this is a highly distinctive bass guitar.
