General

The second breed of Sire's Marcus Miller V7 basses builds on the solid foundation of the popular first series by adding a number of worthy upgrades for an even better value for money. Most striking are the new single-coils: this set of Marcus Super-J Revolution pickups feature standard winding but the magnets inside have received a special ageing treatment to give you that classic foundation sound of thick Formvar-wound pickups, while you owe the fact that you again get to choose between active and passive sounds to the familiar and dependable Heritage-3 preamp, along with the ability to cut or boost the 80 to 2000 Hz mid-range to dial in your preferred tone.

V7-4 2nd Generation Ash: Carefully Tweaked To Enhance Playing Comfort, Sound Transfer and Stability

While the maple neck still has the same comfortable C-profile, Sire have carefully tweaked the V7 bass to give you a bit of extra playing comfort. You'll instantly feel that the fretboard edges have been rounded and that the fretboard itself now has more spacious, medium-sized frets along with a flatter 9.5-inch radius to help you to deliver faster bass parts and riffs. Also new on this Marcus Miller signature is the Heavy Mass String-Thru bridge which, next to ensuring a richer sound, keeps the intonation and tuning stability in check so that both bedroom and gigging bassists can fully enjoy everything this 2nd Generation J-style bass offers.
