Sandberg offer high quality, hand-made bass guitars that are lovingly customised. Just like this aged, orange California VM edition with matching headstock. Artificial ageing is one of Sandberg's specialities, as this bass guitar has personally discovered. It's a brand new model but comes with several slight cuts and bruises for a unique, well-worn look and feel. This version's neck is made from Canadian maple and has been bolted to the body with six screws for better tone reliability. The fretboard is made from rosewood and features pearloid block inlays.

Sandberg California series' bodies have been slightly touched up and given a little more personality. When it comes to the type of wood used for the body, the choice is all yours. Sandberg uses European ash, American swamp ash, alder, mahogany and other exotic types of wood. The body is mounted with Sandberg split-coils and a Sandberg Powerhumbucker that delivers a clear and punchy sound. The 2-band EQ features several filters and a high/low boost but can just as easily be bypassed by pulling out the volume switch.

Zero fret and adjustable bridge saddles

Sandberg has provided the California TM4 with some striking features. For starters, it has a zero fret at the string nut that means you'll get the same tone when you play with open as you would with fretted strings. The saddles can be adjusted in three directions for very precise intonation and the string height and spacing can also be tweaked. Finally, the resistance between the machine heads is adjustable, which gives you optimal string nut tension of the A, D and G strings.
