General

Jackson, the manufacturer of iconic metal guitars, has once again teamed up with the legendary bass player David Ellefson of metal band Megadeth. This time, it resulted in a completely new bass guitar model, intended for musicians with a limited budget. The JS2 Kelly Bird IV is a combination of the classic Thunderbird bass and Jackson's popular guitar shape, the Kelly. This version has a matte black lacquer and black hardware that give this guitar a tough-looking, mysterious appearance. If you prefer a more classic look, we also offer the Burnt Cherry Sunburst version.
Equipment of the Jackson JS2 Kelly Bird IV
This bass is made for playing some really heavy metal! The Jackson JS2 Kelly Bird IV is armed with a set of high-output humbucker pickups for a powerful, fat sound. The body is made of basswood, a lightweight type of wood that produces a tight, balanced sound. This means no woolly, muddy tones but a bright attack and a full bass. Each pickup has its own volume knob and you also have a master control at your disposal for filtering the high tones. The JS2 Kelly Bird IV is fitted with a High Mass-model bridge which is extra thick for more tone and sustain.
Compound radius fretboard
The neck of the JS2 Kelly Bird IV is made of hard, solid maple and has a 21-fret rosewood fretboard and pearloid block inlays to mark the positions. The higher positions of the fretboard are flatter than the lower positions. This means it has a compound radius, and in combination with the extra large jumbo frets, you'll have optimal playing comfort along the entire neck. The headstock of the JS2 Kelly Bird IV has that typical Jackson sharp hockey stick-like shape. It is fitted with four first-grade sealed, self-lubricating tuners in one line and of course features the classic Jackson logo in white.

Wrote the following about Jackson JS2 Kelly Bird IV electric bass guitar black
