General

As one of the Big Four metal bands, Megadeth forged a path for the next generation to follow. Dave Ellefson, the group's bassist, played no small part in defining their sound. That's why Jackson have taken the time to upgrade his USA Signature model, the 5-string Concert Bass V in Satin Silver. The 5th string allows you to play extra-low lows. This instrument looks pretty cool too with a specially shaped body made of alder and a maple neck with an ebony fretboard and the characteristic Jackson headstock. At the heart of this bass beats two active EMG pickups.

Booming bass

The five strings on the USA Signature Concert Bass V give you a broader range especially in lower tunings. To keep notes pure, this model features a Jackson Hi-Mass bridge. Two active EMG humbuckers are responsible for delivering the lows. An EMG 40DC is fitted in the bridge position with an EMG 40CS found at the neck. The tight, clear sound can be manipulated using the combination of volume and blend controls as well as the active three-band EQ featuring bass, mid and treble controls.

Playing pleasure

The Dave Ellefson USA Signature bass has been designed for endless hours of playing pleasure. The neck has a compound radius that makes it comfortable in the hand. Lower down, the radius is rounder and narrower and the higher up you go the broader and flatter the radius becomes. This means that playing anywhere on the neck is equally as comfortable. The body has also been designed so that it fits yours as closely as possible for optimal playing comfort.
