General

Besides a number of gorgeous guitars, Jackson has now included some bass guitars in its X Series, including this Snow White CBXNT V Concert Bass. Jackson's main target group has always been metal bands, but this 5-string bass appeals to a whole new demographic. A sturdy body combined with a rosewood fretboard and characteristic low B string make this instrument ideal for heavy accompanying. The addition of two active humbuckers and 24 frets offer a multitude of possibilities.

CBXNT V Concert Bass Snow White: light vs dark

Jackson had their work cut out for them with the CBXNT V Concert Bass. The design was already finished, but the sound needed some serious tweaking. Eventually, Jackson decided to develop their own pickups, which resulted in two active humbuckers, each with its own individual volume knob. The other three knobs are for active tone control, consisting of bass, mid and treble. In order to contain all that power, Jackson has mounted their own Hi-Mass bridge that ensures - together with the slanted headstock - tuning stability.

Straightforward

Growling, snarling, rolling thunder - these are sounds that can be associated with a Jackson. This is a beast of a bass, after all! To allow for smooth playing comfort, the neck has a compound radius, which means the neck is round and narrow at the first frets, and becomes increasingly flatter and wider as you move upwards. Its specially-rounded heel makes it easy to slide your hand up and down the neck, and its basswood body is ergonomically designed to sit comfortably next to yours.
