General
A 5-string bass always appeals to the imagination and to make one accessible and available to everyone, Ibanez have expanded their Soundgear Series with the SR305E. This model comes dressed in a gorgeous Cerulean Aura Burst finish and, just like its Series' counterparts, has a slightly smaller body and neck than is normal to ensure maximum playing comfort. For the sound, two switchable PowerSpan pickups have been installed and there's an active 3-band EQ to help you dial in the right tone.
Sonic Expressionism
The SR305E allows for precise expressiveness, in part thanks to the PowerSpan Dual Coil passive humbuckers. Together, these deliver a strong signal with clear highs and defined lows, which can be emphasized on or muddied using the Power Tap switch that turns the humbuckers into a pair of single coils. Alternatively, you might to go for the best of both worlds and set up sparkling highs and fat lows. A 3-band EQ can be used to further fine-tune your sound.
One String Per Finger
The Cerulean Aura Burst finish doesn't just get you a good-looking bass, but also one that feels instantly familiar thanks to a slimmed down body in combination with a bolt-on 5-piece maple and walnut neck. All five strings run along the length of a jatoba neck with 24 medium frets and lock in at the Accu-cast B125 fixed bridge to guarantee the best possible string vibration transference. Moreover, replacing or intonating the strings can be done effortlessly via easily accessible bridge saddles.
