General

If you're already used to the modern shape and smooth playability of an Ibanez Soundgear bass, why not upgrade to the Premium Series? The SR4FMDX combines that supreme feel with matching looks and sound. This forward-thinking bass sports a flamed maple/bubinga top and matching back and sides, which are joined to a bolt-on neck finished with a birdseye maple fretboard lined with beautiful oval inlays. So no harm can come to any of these parts, Ibanez thoughtfully include a made-to-measure Premium gig bag.

The SR4FMDX: Modern Foundation, Imposing Tone

The Atlas-4 neck not only feels light and snug but is extremely stable thanks to its graphite-reinforced, 5-piece construction which only contributes to the balanced, sustain-rich foundation sound. Jacked in, the two Big Break pickups from Nordstrand spit out a collection of robust sounds that can be tweaked using the 3-band EQ, the highly potent Mid Frequency switch and the standard-issue controls of the Custom Electronics preamp, while the reliable MR5S bridge and the Premium Fret Edge treated 24 medium frets take care of optimum tuning stability and a butter-smooth feel.
