More than 25 years ago, Ibanez first introduced the SR bass as a kind of middle ground between the (very famous) American J and P basses and has since become a classic in its own right. The Ibanez Gio Series GSR205B might come at a great price, but this bass sounds expensive. Built with the same kind of precision applied to any of their high-end models, this instrument offers an incredibly comfortable 5-string to more ambitious beginners in need of a challenge, as well as an affordable bass for the seasoned player.

The Ibanez GSR205B-WNF: Construction

The mahogany body has a Walnut Flat finish and has been fitted with a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fretboard. This wood combination shapes a warm and round foundation sound and ensures plenty of sustain. All of this natural tone is then registered by a mounted pair of Ibanez Dynamix humbuckers, each provided with a dedicated volume control to find the perfect sweet spot. Both pickups shape a solid amplified sound that can be made to rumble and growl by engaging the extra power injected by the active bass-boost function, while that extra-deep, extra 5th string adds a nice thick under layer to your note palette.

The Ibanez Gio Series

The Ibanez Gio was made for bassists seeking a great instrument that doesn't cost them the Earth. This bass looks just as good as it sounds, and while the price tag is more than reasonable, the Gio undergoes the same level of care and scrutiny as more high-end Ibanez models, before it's even allowed to leave the factory floor. The result is an instrument built to last a lifetime, no matter your playing level.

Een perfecte beginners 5-string bass om te leren spelen op een bas met 5 snaren.
Het geluid is niet super als je er ook mee wil opnemen, maar als je er mee repeteert dan is het een prima bas.
