A modern and innovative design and a carefully selected combination of high-quality parts make the Ibanez Bass Workshop Series EHB-1500-DEF truly brilliant at everything it does. The body of this electric bass has been skilfully crafted out of selected lightweight African mahogany before being hollowed out to add a few weight-saving chambers. Combined with an ergonomic shape, the EHB1500 is super comfortable to play for hours on end, even on the stage. In addition, this model features a stunning poplar burl top and a panga-panga/walnut neck for a rich and balanced sound articulated by two Nordstrand Big-Split pickups and a set of comprehensive active tone controls. Since this is a headstock-less bass, the tuning and intonation of it are done at the MR5HS bridge, which is yet another weight-reducing feature. In short, the Ibanez Bass Workshop Series EHB-1500-DEF offers maximum tone, comfort, flexibility and playability and is truly brilliant at everything it does.

Ligt en hangt mooi in balans en zeker niet zwaar. Wel vind ik de afwerking zwaar tegenvallen (voor een €1400-bass): de achterkant van de (overigens verder uitstekend afgewerkte) hals heeft wat "flaws" en ook de bookmark op de body is erg slordig. Verder komt er zo goed als GEEN output in de passive stand. Laat dan die hele schakelaar maar weg... Twijfel over terugsturen, maar wel een verdomd lekker basje.
