A timeless treat for hardcore connoisseurs of Paul McCartney's first 1961-vintage Höfner bass, the Violin Bass 61 comes in a handsome Vintage Finish. Weathered by hand, this bass has the look of a model that's seen sixty years of gigging life. As a result, every example of this exclusive semi-acoustic legend is truly unique and, keeping the treats coming, Höfner have packed up this bass with an uninstalled pearloid pickguard, a vintage guitar strap, and a form-fitting hardshell case.

The Violin Bass 61: A Trusted Build & 1961 Pickup Configuration

Just like the original 1961 model, this professional-grade offering has been mounted with a pair of Cavern pickups: one at the neck position and one at the middle position, which combine with a friendly and familiar set of pots and switches set into a classic mother-of-pearl control panel. This trusted combo produces the unmistakable roundness and warmth of the Mersey Beat bass sound. Other authentic details include a comfortably short scale length; a three-piece flamed maple neck with an aged-finished and an immediately played-in feel; a set of four Single open-gear machine heads; a Höfner Trapeze tailpiece, and Höfner Fretted ebony bridge.
