Like the Ignition model, the Höfner HCT-500/1-SB Contemporary Violin Bass (Sunburst) is an affordable version of the famous Hofner Beatles Bass'. The original Violin Bass can be heard on numerous Beatles and McCartney recordings, making it a very popular guitar over the years. Its most notable features include the violin-shaped hollow body and relatively short-scale neck that you will also find on this Contemporary version.
The Classic Features of the Contemporary Violin Bass
It's not just its price that makes this high-quality instrument an excellent choice for novice players. Its 30-inch scale length, for instance, ensures that the frets are closer together for smooth playing. Also, its hollow body is comfortably light of weight. What's more, you can be rejoice in several classic features such as a pearloid pickguard, sunburst lacquer and classic tailpiece. Een puntje van kritiek; zoals de bas verpakt was kan echt niet. De bas zat in een simpele doos, verpakt in een grotere doos met slechts aan 1 zijde enkele luchtzakjes. M.a.w., zet je de doos op de grond, dan klapt de gitaar ook op de grond. Je verzint het niet.
Maar, zeer tevreden met deze bas, heb er uiteraard de teacups op gezet, het geluid én speelcomfort is ongehoord goed!

deze heeft alles om een top Hofner te zijn , mooi afgewerkt , degelijk , betere pick ups dan de Chineesse versie , zeer mooie intonatie,echt een basje om te hebben ! ik betwijfel dat de hele dure Made in Germany reeks beter is,apart voor het slechtere soldeerwerk in deze HCT , maar dat kan verholpen worden .
