General

The Fender Starcaster probably has one of the rarest guitar designs in the world. This semi-hollow body was introduced in the seventies as a limited edition and is renowned for its distinctive body shape, or 'offset waist', and its wicked humbucker pickups. Decades later, the short-scale Starcaster bass guitar is back as a part of Fender's Modern Player series with a superior sound, improved construction and unrivalled beauty. It is an ideal instrument for the Fender-loving bass player that likes to play a quirky guitar.

Fender Modern Player Starcaster Bass Natural: short-scale bass guitar with Center Block

The thin semi-hollow body of the Fender Starcaster is made of laminated maple and features an alder Center Block, which is a solid wooden beam fitted in the centre and along the entire length of the body, separating it into two large sound chambers as it were. The front and back of the body of the Starcaster feature beautiful bindings that are also found around the characteristic F holes on the top. The C-shaped neck and 22-fret fretboard with black position markers are also made of maple. This semi-acoustic guitar's headstock features a quintessential Starcaster Black Accent Stripe, as well as a Fender logo.

Wide-Range Humbuckers

The Fender Modern Player Starcaster Bass Natural has two Fender Wide Range Humbucking Bass pickups, a three-position pickup switch, four controls with vintage-style knobs (a volume and tone control for each pickup) and a 4-saddle Fender Hi-Mass bridge. It is the perfect instrument for jazz, blues and rock 'n' roll oriented bass players.
