As a Fender Custom Shop model befits, this Bass Journeyman Relic exhibits an excellent combination of classic and avant-garde features. You owe the fact that this solid-body bass requires no breaking in to the special Relic treatment of the body and finish of the neck. Since the combination of a Precision-style body and a '60 Jazz Bass U-shaped neck offers a trusty and familiar feel, you can take this California Custom Shop straight to the stage.

The 2019 Postmodern Bass Journeyman Relic: All Bas(s)es Covered

Basically, the Bass Journeyman Relic gets you the best of a Precision and a Jazz model fused into a single bass. For extra stability and superior playing comfort, the neck is made of quarter-sawn maple and the fretboard edges have been skilfully rounded. In terms of tone, it goes without saying that Fender had little choice but to mount a P-style split-coil in the mid position so that this Hand-Wound '57 P-Bass pickup naturally gives you all of that legendary Fender sound from the model's defining year. For enhanced sustain and vibration transfer, as well as matching looks, the RSD department has blessed this bass with a chrome-plated brass HiMass bridge and this 2019 Postmodern Bass Journeyman comes complete with a luxury case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
