General

If you want nothing but an utterly unique, played-in look and pure, vintage, early-fifties sound and playability out of your Precision bass, then Fender meet all demands with the Limited Edition 1951 Precision Bass Heavy Relic. An exclusive member of the Custom Built LTD Series, every inch of this bass was assembled by hand by the master-builders of the Fender Custom Shop, setting up the die-hard connoisseur with a true one-off. While the Heavy Relic finish lends this Precision its distinct, authentic look, it also gives it the feel of a bass that's seen more than seventy years of service.

The Limited Edition 1951 Precision Bass Heavy Relic: 1951 U-Profile & Hand-Wound '51 - '55 Single-Coil

A quarter-sawn maple neck has been bolted onto the two-piece alder body, which has been given that typical early-fifties shaping. The fuller 1951-U profile neck profile and '51 P-Bass bridge with Fiber saddles and ashtray bridge-cover score all of the historical accuracy points, and beneath the period-correct pickup cover lies a mounted, hand-wound '51-'55 Precision Bass single-coil. Coupled with the simple yet effective two-pot control section, you're granted full access to the full fifties tonal experience, and to finish, a tasteful maple thumb-rest has been fitted in just the right spot. This accurate ode to the age that shaped contemporary music as we know it comes complete with a deluxe hardshell case, strap, and a certificate of authenticity.
