General

Designed in 1960 as an alternative to the Precision Bass, the Jazz Bass was an instant hit. It featured a narrow neck, comfortable asymmetrical body and not just one, but two pickups. The J-Bass, as it is also called, provides both a fuller as a more clear tone than the P-Bass, making it more versatile. The American Standard Jazz Bass does nothing to detract from this formula for success, in fact, it adds to it. The guitar is equipped with Fender Custom Shop pickups and features some modern modifications for a better tone and playability. The bass guitar you see here has Fender's classic Olympic White finish and a rosewood fretboard that has warmer trebles than the maple version.

American Standard Jazz Bass: Custom Shop qualities

The Custom Shop pickups on the American Standard Jazz Bass are usually only found on more expensive Fender instruments. These single coils are vintage pickups on steroids as they produce that authentic J-Bass sound with more of everything. Extra windings provide these pickups with more output, a bigger and tighter bass and exceptionally rich mids. The electronics comprise two volume and a master tone control. Blending the volumes enables you to create a wide range of bass sounds, from fierce and clear to warm and sultry. You can use the tone control to filter out unwanted trebles. Whether going at it with a thick pick or subtly using your fingertips, the American Standard Jazz Bass delivers a top-quality performance every time.

A true classic with modern improvements

In addition to the fantastic-sounding pickups, Fender equipped this white American Standard Jazz Bass with several other modern upgrades. The lacquer base coat is much thinner, allowing the body to breathe and resonate better. The playability has also improved thanks to medium jumbo frets and a modern, more flat 9.5-inch fretboard radius. Its neck is stronger and more stable than ever due to the two internal Posiflex support rods. Both the new bridge and Hipshot tuners have retained their vintage looks. The High Mass Vintage bridge is thicker than before, providing a more massive tone and sustain, while the tuners are 30% lighter for a better overall balance.

Fender American Standard Jazz Bass Olympic White RW
Wrote the following about Fender American Standard Jazz Bass Olympic White RW

Mijn eerste USA Fender !!
Heel blij mee !!
