General

You just know you're going to be getting something special with a Fender Professional Series bass. If you just have to have the punch of a Precision but can't live without the versatility of a Jazz, then Fender have solved the problem with the American Professional PJ Bass. Here, you've got the tried and tested split-coil pickup at the middle position and a PJ Bass single-coil at the bridge. Both have their own stacked volume and tone pots so you can quickly and easily hit the right balance. By opting for the concentric pot controls, Fender have kept the electronics of this this bass classic, clean and no-nonsense.

American Professional PJ Bass: naturally round, tasteful looks and extra stability

{Since the shaping of the Fender American Professional PJ Bass has taken some cues from the Precision, the round curves and high gloss finish of the P-syle alder body look and feel natural. The bolt-on neck has a soft satin finish with modern C-profile and narrow-tall frets for the highest playing comfort and is built entirely of roasted maple, which not only looks great but delivers a ripe, rich tone. If you're not entirely convinced then it's worth mentioning that, since the wood has been carefully aged by a humidity control process, it feels played in from the off.
