General

All of the best-loved details of the now-classic Jazz Bass were developed during the second half of the Sixties and the Fender American Original '60s is a sensitive emulation of the timeless original. Loaded with the simplicity offered by a dedicated volume pot per pickup, a '60s-profile neck and synthetic tortoiseshell pickguard, this American Original Series bass genuinely looks like it's just dropped out of the '60s. The vibe continues in the playing comfort and sound framed by the alder body, comfortably slim maple neck and laminated and rounded 9.5-inch radius rosewood fretboard, 20 high frets and Clay Dot position markers.

The American Original ‘60s Jazz Bass: Renowned Mid-Sixties Sound

Besides a classic outfit and playability, the Fender American Original Jazz Bass is mounted with a pair of Pure Vintage ‘64 Jazz Bass singlecoils fitted with Alnico 5 magnets to deliver that now-renowned full foundation sound and punch, while genuine '60s warmth is added by a coating of high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer.
