If you perform regularly in restaurants or intimate venues, you can appreciate the importance of the volume level of the music. Instead of trying to mute your kit with tea towels or limit yourself to playing with brushes, you can also invest in a Sabian FRX cymbal, which offers all the clarity and brightness of a Sabian cymbal but at a much lower volume level. This means you won't have to sacrifice your playing style and both you and your audience will enjoy a better tonal balance.

Sabian FRX 21-inch Ride

This ride is 21 inches in diameter and is made from Sabian's special B20 alloy, which is a combination of silver, tin and copper. Once the alloy has hardened, the cymbal is put into a machine to be hammered. The holes drilled around the cup are designed to filter out the loudest frequencies when the cymbal is played, which lowers the volume level. After a thorough quality control, the cymbal is put away for a couple months to ripen. After that, they're manually checked again and played to ensure it offers the same top quality Sabian is known for.
