General

The Recording King MG10 has been shaped entirely from metal to emulate the original pre-war resonator guitars made by National. While this instrument delivers antique sound, the price is actually pretty fair and gets you all of that hard, bright resonator sound, formed in part by the metal cone integrated into the resonance chamber. Every time a string is struck, the cone resonates to amplify the sound, resulting in that distinctive tone loved by slide guitarists and heard back on many definitive Bluegrass and Blues records.

The Recording King RM-998: Forged from the Best

The resonance chamber of the RM-998-D has been made from the kind of high-quality brass used to mould tuned bells, before being sealed in a flawless layer of reflective nickel. At the centre of the body of this Style-O resonator, a 9.5-inch handspun cone is mounted and its this that shapes unbelievable projection and an astoundingly full tone. The cone has also been finished with small sound-holes arranged in a classic Chickenfoot pattern, and the body has two beautifully shaped F-holes to reinforce the projection.

Roundneck Resonator

When compared to a Squareneck resonator, the RM-998-D comes fitted with a more rounded and more comfortable mahogany neck. This comfort makes this model easier to manage whether standing or sitting to play while the mahogany used for the neck also adds its particularly warm accent to the overall sound, and the hard-maple bridge backs this up with tight clarity. To finish, a set of quality machine heads and a vintage-styled Recording King logo is set onto the top of the headstock.
