General

Tascam's HS series ensures high-quality audio processing and great user-friendliness. Thanks to its compact construction and rack ears, this HS-4000 is ideal for installation purposes. The recorder can be used for the most demanding broadcast and recording applications.

Touch screen as the basis of the HS-4000

The motorised, tiltable colour touch screen forms the basis of the broadcast recorder, as it allows you to effortlessly monitor incoming signals and adjust your settings. Gone are the days of complicated menu structures and want of controls - the user-friendly interface of the HS-4000 enables you to quickly and easily adjust any setting you want.

Data storage options and connectors of the recorder

The HS-4000 records analogue audio and converts it to a digital file with timecoding, allowing for accurate timing and synchronisation at a later stage. Data is stored by means of two CompactFlash slots, which are capable of both synchronised and consecutive recording. A USB 2.0 slot is also at your disposal for easy connection of storage devices.

The rear panel of the HS-4000 is fitted with various analogue and digital inputs and outputs. The analogue inputs and outputs are there for the audio signal and come in the shape of balanced XLR connectors. Four inputs and outputs can be switched to two decks. The digital inputs and outputs are mainly there for control purposes - it is possible to operate the broadcast recorder from a separate control room, for instance.
