General

The Tascam HS-20 is a professional-grade recorder, ideal for broadcasting and live recording applications. The various features and functions of this 2-channel recorder turn it into a versatile, professional tool. The HS-20 has a clear display, can function as an FTP server and is able to record at up to 192 kHz. Thanks to its exceptionally stable firmware, the recorder is always at your service, and you can easily transfer your recordings by means of an SD card.

Tascam HS-20: possibilities

A professional recording device should be compatible with other equipment, both digital and analogue. To meet those requirements, the HS-20 is equipped with a wide range of connectors. The analogue side features RCA and balanced XLR connectors, while the digital side is fitted with AES/EBU and S/PDIF inputs and outputs. A Word Clock allows for synchronisation with other devices, and SMTP synchronisation is also part of the possibilities. To ensure a useable audio recording at all times, you can use two SD cards in mirrored mode.

Using the 2-channel recorder

Recording with the Tascam HS-20 is a piece of cake, but naturally you'll also want to be able to find your recordings again. The HS-20 allows you to give each of your audio files a name, and to add some text as well. Connect a standard QWERTY keyboard to the PS2 input and entering that information is quite easy. Audio files can be quickly transferred by means of a USB port or using the FTP functionality of the recorder. For that latter option an Ethernet connector is present, which turns the Tascam HS-20 into an FTP client.
