General

The S series keyboards by Yamaha are the affordable versions of the legendary Tyros. This PSR-A2000 is a special model from the PSR series of Yamaha keyboards designed for playing oriental music, so you'll find an expansive library of sounds available that are perfectly suited for eastern music. A comprehensive scale function allows you to quickly and easily switch between complex tunings, making it excellent for live performances as well. Use the joystick to combine pitch-bend and modulation for the extra expression that's a must in oriental music.

Yamaha PSR-A2000: the sound of the Middle East

The host of users of the oriental keyboard all have different needs when it comes to their music. The aforementioned scale function can be controlled via a number of buttons on the left of the keyboard, and since many ethnic wind and string instruments have different tunings than a typical acoustic piano, you can use this function to work in the correct eastern tuning. You can even make your own tuning to achieve your own personal sound. A large portion of the sounds on board the A2000 are aimed at oriental sound, and the accompaniment styles were programmed with care to include professional Arabic, Maghreb, Khaliji, Iranian, Turkish and Greek styles. The PSR-A2000 can also be expanded to include a sea of specific styles and sounds so you always have the right one.

Tone richness: MegaVoice and polyphony

The PSR-A2000 features Yamaha's modern AWM Stereo Sampling tonal richness as well as MegaVoices, which is known from the Tyros. This means you can choose from a large number of extremely realistic sounds from guitars to drums to wind instruments; every little detail is reproduced flawlessly. The Master EQ further upgrades the sound via the built-in speakers which then send everything through a 2 x 12W amplifier. The polyphony is just as extensive as that of the Tyros, so this keyboard can handle up to 128 voices at a time, making rich sounds and detailed life-like accompaniment styles possible. The A2000 offers the same global functionality as, for example, the S750, but with the addition of high-quality oriental sound and style.
