General

The Yamaha P155 digital piano in black combines great piano sound with a light, portable housing, because while we'd all like to have a real piano (let alone a real grand piano) they're not very practical for musicians on the go. There are enough occasions that warrant investing in a portable instrument: school, church, care homes, ensembles, block parties and so many more can make use of a solid portable digital piano. Of course there are keyboards and synthesizers that sound nice, but most of them don't have a keyboard with 88 keys. The P155B is designed specifically for the travelling pianist, but it's also perfect for home use with the addition of the matching Yamaha L140 piano stand.

The sound

The AWM Dynamic Stereo Sampling engine by Yamaha delivers a great performance. The piano sound that the P155B produces was recorded in stereo from an exquisite concert grand piano with four different levels of attack, meaning that when you strike a key it will play one of the four recorded notes depending on the force you used, giving you realistic pianissimo to powerful fortissimo. In addition to piano there are a number of other sounds available on this instrument including electric pianos, organs and strings. You can easily adjust the brilliance of the sound to achieve sparkling clarity to velvety reverb.

Additional features

A musical instrument sounds its best in a performance hall--the natural reverb compliments the original acoustics for a much more impressive sound. With the P155B you can choose from four types of reverb (chorus, phaser, tremolo, rotary) which are ideal for the electric pianos sounds. An easy-to-use recorder lets you record your playing so you, your family, friends, and teachers can listen to your sessions later. Don't forget the handy metronome and two headphone connections!
