De Motif S90 ES van Yamaha is eigenlijk een mix tussen een digitale piano als de Yamaha S700 en de Motif ES synthesizers. Deze synthesizer combineert de mult-velocity sounds van de S700 en de flexibiliteit van de Motif ES serie.

De Yamaha Motif S90 ES is voorzien van een aanslaggevoelig keyboard met een gebalanceerd hammer effect. De synthesizer heeft 88 toetsen met aftertouch, waardoor deze aanvoelen als een echte piano. De 230MB sample ROM biedt een zeer ruim pallet aan authentieke en originele voices. De Motif S90 ES levert hierdoor een klankkwaliteit met een zeer grote dynamiek, dat realistisch en creatief aanvoelt.

Alle parameters zijn in te stellen en aan te passen, ook tijdens het spelen. Denk hierbij aan filters, levels, effecten, envelopes, reverb en chorus. De synthesizer is voorzien van een grafisch backlit LCD scherm, waarop alle belangrijke dingen af te lezen zijn.
