Waarom het wiel nog een keer uitvinden als je dat al eens eerder hebt gedaan? Yamaha heeft met de Motif serie synthesizers een uitstekende reeks synthesizers geproduceerd, de topserie van het merk. Nu heeft Yamaha deze synthesizers wat vereenvoudigd, waardoor goedkopere versies zijn ontstaan. Motif, maar dan zonder Tif!

Yamaha heeft twee modellen uitgebracht, die uiterlijk niet veel verschillen van de Motif serie. Het gaat om de M06 en deze M08 synthesizer. De M08 is in vergelijking met synthesizers uit de Motif serie echter gemaakt van lichter materiaal en heeft geen sampling functie. Het maakt de M08 inderdaad niet tot één van de topproducten van Yamaha, maar wel een zeer goede synthesizer voor een betaalbare prijs.

De naam 'uitgekleede' versie doet eigenlijk te weinig recht aan deze synthesizer. De machine klinkt goed, heeft uitstekende mogelijkheden, is licht van gewicht, praktisch in gebruik en is dus scherp geprijsd. De M08 beschikt over vrijwel alle functies die we mogen verwachten bij een synthesizer.
