General

The Yamaha DTX542K is an affordable electronic drum set with an outstanding combination of sound and comfort from the DTX502 series. This set is slightly more advanced than the DTX522K not only in regards to the snare pad, but also the 3 tom pads that are fashioned from the super silent and natural-feeling TCS (Textured Cellular Silicone). Practising with headphones can actually create a silent environment for those around you now!

The pads and the rack

Besides the kick pad and incredibly dynamic and wonderfully-playing snare and three toms, the DTX542K is also equipped with a hi-hat pad and two cymbal pads. All three cymbal pads are touch-sensitive at three different points for a broad spectrum of expression possibilities. The drum and cymbal pads are attached to the revamped RS502 rack which is now even stronger and easy to set up and take down in no time.

The sound module

The DTX502 sound module is the heart of the Yamaha DTX524K. It has 32-voice polyphony had 691 drum sounds on board, divided amongst a divers selection of acoustic and electronic drum kits. Additionally, you have a number of practice programs, a digital effects processor, a built-in sequencer and a USB connection. The latter offers you the possibility of sending your drum playing as MIDI information to your computer.
